Neck Refinement

Neck RefinementThe neck is often an overlooked part of the body when it comes to beautification. But the neck, possibly equally as much as the face, can have a dramatic affect on your appearance. Like wrinkles and age spots on the skin, you can appear years older than your actual age because of sagging jowls and neck skin. At our Evansville, Indiana office, Dr. Paik offers several neck refinement techniques to beautify and frame your equally beautiful face.

Neck Liposuction

The accumulation of fat under the chin can occur with weight gain or aging, creating a "double chin" effect. This condition can detract from our appearance at any age. Liposuction specific to the neck is a solution that removes fat and produces a smooth and pleasing neck contour. Fat is suctioned away through discrete incisions behind the ears and under the chin.

Neck Lift or Sculpting

As we age, the muscle bands in our neck begin to loosen, and the skin may loosen and droop. Along with fat accumulation, this can create a "turkey neck" appearance which makes us look dramatically older on the outside than we feel on the inside. A neck lift, or platysmaplasty, creates a "corset-like" effect to firm up sagging neck muscles.

Because the face and neck age similarily, corset-like platysmaplasties are frequently partnered with a companion facelift-surgery for a natural-looking symmetry between the results of the two procedures. A rejuvenated neckline matched with a refreshed face.
